Dr. Dave Marshall and his staff's reputation for teaching excellence is recognized throughout the World and Copyrighted. Dave's guidance and teaching has helped develop 105 state championship tennis players, 75 sectional champions, 25 USTA National Champions, and two US Open Qualifiers. He has sent 125 players on to play collegiate tennis.
Dave has coached NCAA Champions, worked with Australian Women's Finalist and thousands of students whose improved skills have led to their greater enjoyment of the game.
A former nationally-ranked collegate player, Dave holds Delaware Open Singles, doubles and mixed doubles championships. Dave has been USPTA Middle States Pro of the Year as well as Delaware Pro of the Year.
Dave has also led his Men's team to win the USTA National Championships for 2006, 2007 and 2008 - above banner is from the 2008 win in Las Vegas in September 2008.
Dr. Dave is also head coach of the men's and women's teams at Division 3 Washington College. Dave regularly brings his college players to train, compete and help coach at the Dave Marshall Tennis Academies.
Dr Dave Marshall was Director of Tennis at Sea Colony for over 25 years until 2009. Dave's team of pro's (Dave Marshall & Associates) left the SC program in good shape and in the words of SC's Tennis Chair Under Dave's leadership Sea Colony tennis emerged as one of the premiere programs in the country, achieved national rankings in several categories and built a world class program.
In August of 2009, Dave Marshall & Associates completed the Dave Marshall Tennis and Fitness Center in Lewes Delaware, where the Dave Marshall Tennis Academies are now headquartered. Within 9 months of opening, Dave Marshall Tennis Academies has been ranked the #17 Tennis Camp in the world by Tennis Resorts Online (as of May 1, 2010).
Dave McPherson, Touring Coach for Dave Marshall Tennis Academies and Coach of the Bryan Brothers (Worlds #1 Doubles Team) - Mac is a former professional male tennis player on the ATP tour and is known primarilary as a doubles specialist. Mac's pro career was highlighted by his 1992 season with partner, Steve DeVries, where they won doubles titles in Milan, Manchester, Indian Wells, Atlanta, Charlotte and Brisbane to finish No. 8 in the year end Team Rankings and qualifying for ATP Tour World Doubles Championships. In November of that year he achieved his high personal rank of #11 in the doubles ranking. Mac currently coaches #1 ranked American doubles players Bob and Mike Bryan.
Ellis Ferreira - Three-time Grand Slam Champion and former world #1 in doubles - - Ellis won the 2000 Australian Open Men's Doubles Championship with Rick Leach and the 2001 Australian Open Mixed Doubles Championship with Corina Morariu. He also advanced to the finals of the 2000 US Open Men's Doubles Championship with Leach, won the 2001 World Doubles Championships in India, and won the 2005 Wimbledon Over 35 Doubles Championship with Paul Haarhuis.
Tom Mancuso, USPTR, Assistant Director is a Nationally Ranked Senior Tennis player, who also holds Delaware State Titles, Senior Olympic Titles, #2 in Middle States, PTR Finalist 3 years in a row and Champion one of those three. Tom has been a teaching pro for the Dave Marshall Tennis Academies for many years. According to Tom I am very happy when my students sign up for another series of lessons or clinics before they leave. But, I probably get my greatest pleasure out of watching Tots grow into junior players, then high school, then college and .... .
Turtle Burton, USPTR, is a Nationally Ranked Tennis player. Turtle Burton was Assistant Director of Tennis at Sea Colony in 1984. Turtle Joined Dave Marshall Tennis Academies in 1986. Turtle is not only a fantastic coach in her own right, but as a woman relates especially well with our visiting Women's tennis teams. Turtle is also our General Operations Manager and in charge of scheduling all our busy schedules.
Ron Kerchner, Director of Dave Marshall Tennis at Ocean Pines (PTR Instructor). A lifelong tennis player, Ron played on his high school and college tennis teams (Air Force Academy). His high school team was Michigan state champion one year while Ron played for them. Ron had a 20 year career in the Air Force and retired as a Colonel. Ron played and coached on Air Force tennis teams and community teams throughout his Air Force career, and in the USTA leagues in Pennsylvania for ten years. The USTA team won their Region, and progressed to the Sectionals six times during this period. He has been teaching and coaching tennis professionally with Dave Marshall Tennis Academies since 2003.
Stephen Muddy Passwaters, Senior Tennis Pro - Muddy played singles and doubles at Frostburg State University and was Assistant Director of Tennis at the Kinston Country Club before joining the Dave Marshall Tennis Academies in 2006. Muddy stayed on as Assistant Director of Tennis at Sea Colony for a few months in early 2010 before rejoining Dave Marshall Associates in 2010. Muddy is especially great with juniors and tot players. As all of the staff says - nobody doesn't like Muddy.
Fred Samuelson has spent his career as an Advanced Placement American History teacher as well as a highly accomplished and successful New York State high school basketball coach. Fred’s coaching experience includes coaching one of New York State’s most successful girls high school basketball programs. The girls basketball team’s success culminated in two successive New York State girls basketball championships, as well as being runner-up in the finals the year prior to the championship wins. He has won several “Coach of the Year” awards, including being named Coach of Year by the New York State Sportswriters and was elected to the Dutchess County Sports Hall of Fame. Having played tennis most of his adult life, Fred brings the same motivational and empowerment skills to his tennis endeavors.
Steve Huffy Hufnal, Senior Tennis Pro has arguably the best forehand stroke on the east coast. Huffy was a Top 20 M.S.T.A. Junior - two times, Delaware State High School Finalist, and #1 Singles - Florida Southern College. Huffy has been coaching with the Dave Marshall Tennis Academies for many years. All the returning ladies' teams ask for Huffy but, sorry ladies he's now spoken for.

James Pack, Eastern Maryland Tennis Champion, Junior Development Coach started playing tennis with Dave and Tom at the age of 4. James was Captain and #1 Singles Player for Stephen Decatur High School's varsity tennis team, which he led the past two years to back-to-back wins at the Bayside Conference Championship. James has been MPSSAA District 8 Finalist in 2008; Singles Champion in 2009 and 2010; and States Quarterfinalist in 2010. He continues to compete in tournaments at USTA level. James is as comfortable playing as he is talking about the history of tennis and racquet technologies, by which he is fascinated. When James is coaching the tots and upcoming juniors, his enthusiasm shows and magic happens.

Brittany Marshall, Senior Tennis Pro. At Washington College earned All-Centennial Conference honors in doubles, MVP honors, and All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship honors, 3 time ESIAC conference singles champion, Daily Times Player of the Year, ranked top 20 of USTA section, nationally ranked as junior player and ranked #1 in Delaware. Brittany has been coaching for Dave for 10 years.
Allison Daciek, Senior Coach trained with Dave since she was a child and teaching for Dave for 5 years. A four-year All-Centennial Conference player while at Washington College, Allison played No. 1 singles for the Shorewomen throughout her four-year collegiate tennis career. A two-year captain and two-time team MVP, she helped lead the Shorewomen to appearances in the first three Centennial Conference Tournaments, including a spot in the 2006 championship match.
Tony Summers was Director of Fitness at the Plantations Health Club from 1989 to 2009. Since then he has been the Director of Fitness at our club. Tony's career highlights include: Two-Time World Natural Powerlifting Federation Champion (2005 & 2007), Three-Time National Natural Powerlifting Federation Champion (2005, 2006 & 2007), Two-time State Natural Powerlifting Federation Champion (2006 & 2008) and National Recordholder - Bench Press World Natural Powerlifting Federation Lifetime Drug-Free Nationals (2007, 2008 & 2009). Everyone absolutely loves Tony, so ask to see Tony when you are here!
Carl Roberts is a licensed Massge Therapist whose unique knowledge and understanding of massage and bodywork has earned him a solid reputation from physicians, massage therapists, bodyworkers and the local community.Carl has competed in triathlons, a marathon and is an avid surfer. Erin Frazer, LMT, ABMP, NCBTMB has special expertise in Allergies, Arthritis, Bone & Joint Childrens Health Conditions, Digestive Issues, Heart Conditions, Womens Health Conditions, Pain, Stress and Sports Injuries.

Neko, part time ball girl has been on the scene for 3 years and comes from a long line of CockaPoo ball girls. Neko is not just another pretty face - she can be counted upon to work like a dog and fetch balls even when tired. She will respond to a few kind words, pat on the head and of course, a bisquit. BTW, Neko is Japanese for cat.
