Lewes, Del.’s Dave Marshall Tennis advanced its position among the world’s premier tennis camps, according to Tennis Resorts Online’s recently released 2022 rankings.
TennisResortsOnline.com (TRO), published by former Tennis magazine editor Roger Cox, ranked the First State club as the world’s No. 7 tennis camp, up from its previous No. 9 position. In addition, Dave Marshall Tennis (DMT) earned accolades as the planet’s No. 1 for best tennis staff, No. 1 for best tennis instruction and programming, and No. 5 for best pro shop.
TRO’s annual rankings are determined by tennis players, who review tennis and pickleball camps and resorts in nearly two dozen categories.
Open to the public, DMT’s unique seven-acre sports complex features seven tennis courts, including three indoor hard courts, one outdoor hard court, and three outdoor Har-Tru clay courts, as well as a seasonal outdoor pool, a fitness center, and a Pilates studio.
Led by Dr. Dave Marshall, DMT’s experienced team of teaching professionals offer tennis and pickleball camps, clinics, and private instruction to players of all ages and skill levels - from beginners to touring professionals.
Over the last five decades, Marshall’s tennis programs have produced elite juniors, top collegiate tennis players, state and national champions, and Grand Slam winners. In addition to high-level juniors and recreational players, Marshall is currently coaching half a dozen ATP and WTF professional tennis players, including Gabriela Dabrowski, Guiliana Olmos, Kaia Kanepi, Edouard Roger-Vasselin, Łukasz Kubot, and Benoit Paire. Marshall, along with Dave Macpherson, coached The Bryan Brothers until their retirement in 2021. Marshall has also worked with Delaware-native Madison Brengle.
